My mother slapped my summer school teacher......?

Protecting you from what exactly? Was this teacher physically intimidating you? No, she wasn't. She said you would end up as a maid. As a teacher she cannot say things like that, it is unethical. However, your mom cannot put her hands on someone else, REGARDLESS (unless you were in PHYSICAL danger). The teacher can legally call the police and they can file an assault and battery charge against your mom. Slapping a teacher because she "picked on" you is not protecting you or anyone. The good news is that I doubt your teacher will press charges or even call the police because while she has a case here, she will still have to tell the police how the situation escalated and what she said to you. That will get back to the school and she can be fired (or at least reprimanded) if what she said was egregious. From what you said she did step over the line, but you were probably being a bit of a brat and frustrated her.
