Whats the relationship between the travel industry and inbound tourism?

It would be my view that the study of inbound travel falls under the umbrella of education for the travel industry as a whole. Tourism is a major factor that effects all touch points of the travel industry. Without a solid stream of inbound tourists, the industry will not fair so well. to sum up, even more important these days when you most travel agents being replaced by online websites that do all your planning for you. TO sum up, the over health of a local area that thrives on tourism may be best determined by the overall volume of new tourists arriving each season. This must all of course be held through a lens that incorporates the current economic conditions of the consumer. If prices are high for basic good, gas, fuel, etc. less expendable money is available for relaxing vacations .
