Why won't my parents leave me alone?

My parents won't leave me alone just because it's summer and I go outside in a sweater, t shirt and jeans. I hate shorts and stuff like that because I really hate the way I look in them but if I told my parents that they might get angry and give me a long lecture about how I should not care what people think. How do I get them to leave me alone?
