In madden 10 for ps3, how do you do one handed catches and toe drags?

So far, I've only had 1 one-handed catch and that was by my rb. I did a toe drag with fitz and it was called a catch on the field, but the game didn't give me the 1st down. I know that past maddens had one handed catches so y does it feel like that took it out in madden 10? I know that one handed catches are kind of random, but the toe drag should be able to work. My receivers can't stay inbounds worth nothing. So I know you have to to user catch, but what else? Thank u in advance.
